At least those files can be safely and easily deleted for real with something like Bleachbit on an HDD, but apparently it doesn't do the job on an SSD, and actually puts unnecessary wear on the SSD besides, making it a lose/lose proposition. That's the way it is on an HDD, and now I've learned it's that way with an SSD as well. But is there a good replacement for it? I mean, when I delete something, it isn't actually deleted and can be easily recovered.
Well, now I have an SSD in my laptop, and after using Bleachbit on it once, I then learned that it was a big no-no. Otherwise, the files I have for keeps are stored in encrypted containers using VeraCrypt. I always had an HDD in my computer until recently, and every month or so I'd use Bleachbit to securely delete browsing activity, recycle bin files, and anything else I wouldn't want people to get ahold of if they managed to break in and steal my computer.
